Welcome

This blog starts from the time I spent in Baghdad 2006 to 2007, when I wanted to record some thoughts and give friends the inside mail on a crazy environment. Since then, after some time out from a broken ankle and between times working in London, I've been on the road again around eastern Europe, NZ and South America. So far. This continues with the hope of telling anyone who's interested about the new places I'm seeing and the people who make them interesting.

On the right you can find links to previous posts. I need to figure out how to get the order of current posts right. Maybe having used this for a few years it's the kind of thing I should have sussed...

Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

ironic

So I spend several months in Baghdad and don't get a scratch, and 2 days into my holiday I get hit by a car. It'll be 2 or 3 months before I can go back to Baghdad but will try and write something soon. There's enough to write about.

Peace
S

heh. bowled by a car in UK after yonks in Bagdad. When I was little, (5y/o) I was on a Shell Tanker & a BP tanker with my family. My father was 2nd mate on the Voluta & 1st Mate on the British Holly. We went to Abadan, Mina al Ahmadi, Kharg Island, Bandar Mashur & Ras Tanura. I can't remember much about those places at all, but I got a kitten from Abadan which we gave to friends in Durban. We told them it was a genuine Persian.
